Sound familiar?

If it's gone wrong with solar, it belongs here.

These are the calls we get most. Pick the closest match — or just describe it in your own words in the case review form.

  • My solar company went out of business

Warranty, monitoring, and service can survive even when the installer doesn't. We help you figure out what you're still owed and who's on the hook for it now.

First step: we check for a successor company, trace any UCC filings on your equipment, and confirm what actually transferred.

  • They won't communicate

Unreturned calls, ghosted emails, no updates for weeks. We reach the right people and keep the pressure on.

First step: we identify the right contact — not the general line — and follow up until someone responds.

  • Contract questions or concerns

Confusing clauses, financing terms, lease vs. loan questions. We read the fine print so you don't have to guess.

First step: we read your actual contract line by line and translate it into plain language.

  • Installation delayed or stuck

Permits, inspections, utility interconnection — we find where the holdup actually is and push it forward.

First step: we contact your utility, permitting office, or installer to find which step is stalled.

  • Questions about your cost

What you're paying, what you financed, and whether the numbers you were shown still add up.

First step: we compare your contract terms against what you were actually billed or financed.

  • Savings don't match reality

If projected savings, credits, or SREC revenue never showed up, we help you find out why.

First step: we check your production data against the original proposal's projections.

  • Battery or system help

Storage that won't charge, backup that doesn't kick in, or a system that just doesn't make sense to you.

  • System isn't producing

Low output, dead panels, inverter errors. We help get it diagnosed and documented for warranty claims.

  • The monitoring app isn't working

Blank dashboards, login errors, no data for weeks. We help you get visibility back into your system.

  • The system got disconnected

Utility disconnection, permission-to-operate issues, or a system offline longer than it should be.

  • My bill went up

Solar was supposed to lower it, not raise it. We help you understand what actually changed.

  • Something else entirely

If it doesn't fit a category, it still fits here. Tell us what's going on and we'll take a look.

How it works

Three steps. No runaround.

  1. Tell us what's going on

A short form, no jargon required. Give us the basics — your installer, the issue, and what you've already tried.

  2. We dig in

We contact your installer, financier, or manufacturer, review your contract and system data, and figure out exactly where things stand.

  3. You get a straight answer

A clear explanation in plain language, a next step you can actually act on, and a defined scope for the case service you selected.

Why HappyPath

We don't sell solar. We help fix what solar sold you.

HappyPath Solar started after call after call from homeowners who had nowhere else to turn — their installer wasn't answering, their finance company was a stranger to them, and nobody would just tell them what was actually happening.

So we built the thing those homeowners kept wishing existed: independent help from people who know how the solar industry actually works, aren't selling you anything, and will give you a straight answer.

Founder, HappyPath Solar

HappyPath Solar was founded by Will Chandler, who also runs Legacy Energy, a solar company. That industry experience is why HappyPath knows where the problems hide — and it's exactly why the disclosure matters: HappyPath Solar operates independently. We don't refer cases to Legacy Energy, and we don't take commissions from installers, lenders, or manufacturers.

  • Independent, alwaysWe're not owned by, affiliated with, or paid by any installer, lender, or manufacturer for the cases we take.
  • We work with any companyBig national installer, local crew, or one that has since closed — it doesn't matter.
  • Built for speedWe know the playbook, so we skip the parts that usually take homeowners weeks to figure out.
  • Upfront about costStandard Case Assessments are a flat $199. Complex Case Assessments start at $449, and any continued advocacy is scoped before it begins.

FAQ

Questions people ask before reaching out

What does it cost to get started?

A Standard Case Assessment is $199 for one clear problem involving one responsible company. Complex Case Assessments start at $449 for issues with multiple parties, financing complications, installer closure, or deeper research needs. In either case, work beyond the included assessment is quoted before it begins.

What is included in a Standard Case Assessment?

We review the core documents and case history, make one primary outreach plus one follow-up to the responsible company, then give you a written action plan and escalation path. It is designed for one issue and one responsible company. Additional follow-up or advocacy is quoted separately before we do it.

What makes a case complex?

Complex cases can involve an installer that closed or entered bankruptcy, multiple companies, financing or lien questions, missing documentation, or an issue that needs deeper investigation. The starting assessment maps the situation, researches the responsible parties, and gives you a written next-stage scope before continued advocacy begins.

Will you keep handling my case until it is resolved?

The assessment gives you a clear diagnosis and next step. If the case needs ongoing calls, escalations, coordination, or additional research, we will explain the work and quote it before continuing. We do not begin open-ended advocacy without an agreed scope.

Do you work with my specific solar company?

We're not limited to a list of partners. National installers, local crews, financiers, equipment manufacturers — if you have solar, we can look into it.

My installer went out of business. Can you still help?

This is one of the most common cases we see. Warranties, monitoring, and financing often transfer to another party even after an installer closes. We help you figure out who's responsible now and how to reach them.

Does your fee cover the cost of actually fixing my system?

No. Our fee covers advocacy and case work — investigating, contacting the responsible parties, and getting you answers. If your system needs a repair, a replacement part, or a service visit, that cost is separate and is paid to whoever performs the work.

What if I'm already in a dispute or considering legal action?

We can still help you get organized and understand your options. We're not a law firm and we don't give legal advice, but we'll tell you plainly when it's time to bring in an attorney.

Do you sell or install solar?

No — that's the point. HappyPath Solar doesn't sell, install, or finance solar equipment, and doesn't take commissions from companies that do. There's nothing pulling us toward any outcome other than solving your problem.

How does HappyPath actually make money?

From flat one-time fees paid by homeowners for case work — never from commissions, referral fees, or a percentage of anything you recover. You always see the fee before any paid work begins.

Do you handle commercial solar systems?

Our focus is residential homeowners. If you have a small commercial system, send it over anyway — we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can help with.
